About
Hi, my name is Sarah Good-Lang! I founded Ponderosa Learning from a passion for working directly with students to provide extra support, build their confidence, reduce academic friction, and create a comfortable and positive environment for nourishing learning.
I learned from my time as a classroom teacher that the most progress in learning happens when a student is given the chance to be understood and believed in. Ponderosa Learning is built on this simple belief: every student can grow when given the right support, patience, and space to learn.

Our Approach
Our approach is built from real-life classroom experience. In most classroom settings, any student is one of many and may only receive a couple minutes of direct, one-on-one, personalized support. We believe all students have the potential and capabilities to be successful students, but we also believe this potential is often realized through individualized academic support in which the student is given an opportunity to be understood and listened to.
The goal at Ponderosa Learning is to not only help students learn, but to understand exactly how they learn best, and meet them where they are at. We don't just want to get students through a hard assignment. We want to work to identify where learning becomes difficult, strengthen their foundational skills, and grow their confidence. Just like the ponderosa pine, learning takes time to grow, but if given the right conditions, can be incredibly resilient and long-lasting.
